5 Easy & Inexpensive Ways to give your Room a Makeover

There’s a certain part of my heart that only comes alive when I walk into a well designed space.

There, I said it.

And at 37 years old, I’m just going to embrace it.

I, Megan C. Rea am owning that fact that a welcoming mix of color, pattern, texture and lighting absolutely has my heart.

In fact, I may have been brought to tears on more than one occasion upon stepping foot into Anthropologie.

I can’t explain such mysteries.

How not to ruin your marriage doing DIY projects

Some days, it sounds absolutely dreamy to go all “Chip and Joanna” on a project. But if you’ve ever tackled even a minor DIY with your significant other, you know it has the potential to evoke WWIII type of explosions on your relationship. There are so many micro decisions that can compound into one major debacle. Not to mention, you’re trying to appease two very different people with, most likely, very different design aesthetics.

Ie: “Black Leather All-The-Things” vs “I want to live in a modern/rustic/Parisian Glam Farmhouse.”

You can’t underestimate the impact that environment has on you.  A few weeks back I shared a photo on instagram of a new store that I had the chance to explore and it was like throwing energetic, creative fuel on my right brain.  Things like design, color, function, organization won’t always feel like a top priority when you’re going through the crazy of life. I am a planner. Chris is more spontaneous.

He will jump, while I’m still “researching.” He likes to “knock things out” and I like to “map things out.” Opposites Attract, and that my friends is proof positive that God has a sense of humor.

How to Redo an old Entertainment Center

Guys, I did something crazy. Something out of character for me. It was against my better judgment and needed some serious persuasion from my Mr…are you ready for it? I DIDN’T use spray paint on something.

WHAT. Is your mind blown? You all know I’m the self-proclaimed queen of spray paint.

Everyone! It’s December! That’s right, now all of you who have been closet listening to Christmas music since Labor Day can come out free of shame. And here, let me add a song to your playlist..Pentatonix “Hark the Harold Angels Sing” because… SO good.

Literally, clear the floor because you’re about to dance.

It’s no secret that around here, we believe in celebrating life.

We believe in celebrating no matter what season you may find yourself in. And this time of year especially, we are all about celebrating the Ultimate life. A life given for us in the form of love’s greatest gift.

A baby. A baby that grew and gave himself so selflessly for all of us. A baby who would give us the opportunity to call Him both Savior and Friend. Without Him, I am a hot mess of a person, but with Him, He says we can do anything. Yep, that’s the kind of amazing God we serve and we get to celebrate His birthday.

My now office was no exception. We tore through the rest of the house, but, that room, well it sat untouched… for 4 years.

And there’s a reason for that.
